Mark McCormick

Kona Hills

Mark McCormick, has day-to-day management responsibilities and is ultimately responsible for all business activities within the Kona Hills, portfolio.  This includes planning and scheduling, human resources, accounting, budgeting and reporting, governance, implementing and controlling work plans, safeguarding of equipment and assets, and managing overall financial performance. Mark is a Certified Public Accountant and is licensed in California (inactive).

Mark most recently served as Secretary, Treasurer, Chief Financial Officer and Board Member of Agri-Empire.  Agri-Empire is a fully integrated grower, packer, shipper of fresh produce.  The company was founded in 1940 and farms approximately 4,000 acres in Southern California.  Additionally, Agri-Empire owns and operates several commercial real estate investments in California and Arizona.

In 2002, Mark served as interim Corporate Controller for Coast Commercial Bank during the bank’s acquisition by Greater Bay Bancorp and the ultimate sale to Wells Fargo Bank.

Since 1999, Mark has worked with both fresh and processed food companies, technology firms, venture-backed startups, real estate developers, banks and builders as well as a wide variety of privately held and publicly traded corporations involved in several industries.  Mark has worked on large, family-held agricultural or food processing firms typically serving in a senior financial management or general management role.

Since 1993, Mark has worked with several large agricultural food companies including Fresh Express, Tanimura & Antle, Coastal Berry, and others.  In conjunction, Mark served in several senior financial management roles including Controller, Operations Controller and VP/CFO.

Mark started his career in San Francisco as a Senior Financial Analyst with Bank of America, where he worked with various domestic and international business units of the bank, focusing on new product deployment strategies and commercial lending to the bank’s largest U.S. customers.  Mark also served as an Export Compliance Officer for several of the Bank’s International Trade Financing Units.
